Present, Future and Last Projects - Phase 2

Present Projects:



Draft and sew a jacket for myself. This is to remove the fear, so I can move forward.  “If you can sew a jacket; you are an intermediate sewer and can sew almost anything.”   So this is my ultimate goal for 2010.
  1. Ready to draft first jacket designed by myself 3/4 done.   I was challenge to make a suit of my style preference.
  2. Attended Don McCunn's pattern-making class for Jan 25th (3 weeks). Purchased all class supplies. Class has been extended!

3. Continue to work on blog and consolidate all my sites.
4.  Finish working on Website
5. Draft and sew a shirt pattern for my Auntie by End of April, 2010.  Drafted the shirt and will make the sloper this weekend Mar 27-28, 2010.  Aunt Joan Top Project
6. Continue to progress more on my sewing journey.

Future Projects/Wish-list

2010 Sewing Projects Wish-list:



-1-  Dress - a black dress, a sleeveless or maxi
-1-  Jacket - attempt to make any first time jacket and Sew a jacket drafted by me for myself.
-1-  Finish my jeans from last year.  Lost my nicely fitted pant pattern, must recreate pattern.
- Complete all designs for the pattern-making class taken on Jan 25, 2010.
-1-  Slack - black
- Continue writing my article on sewing process.
- Remake all custom patterns for myself. I have completed the skirt, top is needs minor fine tuning, pant needs testing.
- Make a dress and jacket custom pattern. Drew designs of how I like to see a special dress and jacket.
- Participate in a Sew Along or two.
- Work on sewing techniques - seam finishing, seam allowance fullness removing.
- Try a commercial pattern and learn how they work.
- Attend any Don's pattern-making class for Bra.
- Make one of my drawing a reality instead of paper drawing.
- Focus on an outfits for dressy and an outfits for casual. One outfit in black - to include skirt, pant, dress and jacket in same fabric is needed. One outfit in blue, wine, brown and green is wanted.  Finish the Style class for website.
- Designed a dress and jacket for future pattern making.

May Venture Wish-list

Panties, Bra and/or night gown. It seen as though I am working on the Venture Wish-list first, instead of Present Project (like jacket).

2009 Unfinished Project (taking a break after making Jeans for Christmas)

SewSister FX Pant/Jeans. My Tummy Tuck Jean version (taking a break from jeans - since it was the last thing I made):

I am working on my techniques for sewing. I also feel I can make a better fitting jeans with shaping. I purchased David Coffin book "Making Trousers" and want to try some of the techniques listed in his book. I am fully responsible for my own progress and ability because any failure on my part will be just that, my part. Any failure will not be due to the instructions or techniques given or shown. Follow my progress by clicking here. Major, major set back!!!! So disappointed!!!  Will come back to the jeans in 2010.

Last Completed Projects Phrase 2

-Using Don McCunn's pattern-making classes, I completed the following:
  1. DN skirt, top 1 and slack 8/2009
  2. The Final Top 2 for DN 9/2009.
  3. Completed Skirt Set 3 pcs for myself 11/2009.
  4. Bikini Bra Top Feb 6, 2010
-Using Don McCunn's pant class and David Coffin's Making Trousers book, I completed: -Help Mother and others to start sewing. Created embroidery towels, embroidery t-shirt, sewing kits and flower pen (they created a skirt too).

-I finish Penn Foster Dressmaking Course and Scitraining Dressmaking Course.  Penn Foster Dressmaking Course is well worth it.  I really love the Penn Foster course, I use this resources regularly.

-I attended a Bodice, sleeve and pant pattern-making class.
